Job summary

Taher, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Food Service Director for a K-12 school lunch program. The role emphasizes staff training, customer service, and operational leadership to deliver high-quality meals.

You will assist the Food Service Director, manage daily production, inventory, and HACCP standards, and help with budgeting while fostering a positive team environment. Day hours with growth opportunities within Taher’s nationwide team.

Qualifications

• 1 year of previous experience in a similar role with an associate degree in hospitality/dietetics preferred
• Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities as required
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
• Must have Serv/Safe certification
• Previous experience managing food and labor costs
• Experience managing a staff
• Proficient computer skills in MS Office and other platforms
• Catering experience, a plus
• Successfully pass a criminal background check

Responsibilities

• Update social media as needed.
• Archive special menus and events with photos and commentary.
• Execute outstanding catering events.
• Assist Food Service Director in delivering budgeted results.
• Create a positive team environment.
• Maintain HACCP standards.
• Manage ordering and inventory.
• Lead daily production.
• Oversee cash management.
• Engage in regular client interaction.
• Implement monthly menu changes.
• Monitor daily production records.
• Assist with weekly stock orders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
