Job summary

JobSquad seeks an Assistant Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager in Alma, GA. The role supervises the QA department, ensures FSIS compliance, and maintains HACCP and GMP programs. A BS, food science or related field, or 5+ years in the food industry is required; bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities include overseeing s compliance, labeling, and audits, plus coordinating training and recalls, with a salary range of $65,000–$90,000 and a day shift from 6am to 3pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Meat Science, Microbiology or related field, or 5+ years in the food industry.
• HACCP certified; Food Safety and Handling certifications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between the plant and FSIS.
• Maintain regulatory compliance with USDA/FSIS requirements.
• Develop and maintain food safety and quality procedures and records.
• Oversee HACCP-based plans, audits, and supplier verifications.
• Investigate customer complaints and initiate corrective actions.
