Job summary

Garnet Hotels is seeking an energetic and service-focused Assistant Food & Beverage Manager for our dual-brand Marriott property in Matteson, Illinois. This hands-on leadership role supports daily operations for Applebee’s, hotel breakfast service, banquet events, lounge operations, and other F&B outlets.

You will lead associates, maintain service standards, coach staff, and ensure smooth, guest-focused operations with a strong emphasis on health, sanitation, and cost control.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of Food & Beverage supervisory or management experience, preferably in a hotel or full-service restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant, banquet, bar, and hotel Food & Beverage operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and guest-service skills.
• Ability to coach and motivate associates.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with scheduling, labor management, inventory, and cost control is preferred.
• ServSafe Food Manager certification or ability to obtain it upon hire.
• BASSET certification or ability to obtain it upon hire.
• Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Marriott experience is preferred.
• Applebee’s or casual-dining experience is a plus.

• Support employee coaching, accountability, and performance-improvement efforts.
• Partner with hotel leadership to improve guest satisfaction and operational performance.

Position Summary

Garnet Hotels is seeking an energetic and service-focused Assistant Food & Beverage Manager for our dual-brand Marriott property in Matteson, Illinois.

This position supports daily operations for Applebee’s, hotel breakfast service, banquet functions, lounge operations, and other Food & Beverage outlets. The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will help lead associates, maintain service standards, address guest needs, and ensure smooth and efficient operations.

This is a hands-on leadership position requiring approximately 80% of scheduled working time to be spent actively supporting outlet operations.
