Job summary

Garnet Hotels is seeking an experienced Banquet Captain to lead banquet events at our dual-brand Marriott property in Matteson, IL. You will oversee events from setup through completion, supervise banquet associates, coordinate food and beverage service, manage banquet bar operations, and ensure accurate billing.

The ideal candidate has hotel banquet experience, strong leadership, knowledge of banquet bar operations, and experience with banquet checks and billing procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel banquet experience is strongly preferred.
• Banquet Captain, Lead Server, or supervisory experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of banquet service procedures and event execution.
• Experience with banquet billing, check posting, and reconciliation.
• Knowledge of banquet bar operations and liquor inventory.
• Strong leadership, communication, and guest-service skills.
• Ability to multitask and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Food Handler certification or ability to obtain it upon hire.
• BASSET certification or ability to obtain it upon hire.
• Marriott and banquet-event software experience is a plus.

• Address guest concerns promptly and professionally.
• Assist with banquet setup and breakdown when needed.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe banquet and storage areas.
• Train, coach, and motivate banquet associates.
• Follow Marriott standards, Garnet Hotels policies, and food-safety requirements.

Position Summary

Garnet Hotels is seeking an experienced and service-focused Banquet Captain to lead banquet events at our dual-brand Marriott property in Matteson, Illinois.
