Position Purpose

Assistant Fitness Manager (Personal Training Sales) – build a cohesive PT team, ensure a healthy client pipeline, and provide an exceptional fitness experience for all members.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily sales targets are met, particularly during weekends or in the absence of the Fitness Manager.
• Promote personal training packages and build strong rapport with members to drive sales.
• Achieve sales targets for personal training and small‑group training, consistently meeting or exceeding goals.
• Collaborate with the membership sales team to support new member onboarding and seamless club transition.
• Conduct personalized welcome workouts for new members to assess fitness needs and goals.
• Guide new members through their initial club experience, fostering a positive environment that promotes PT sales, retention, and engagement.
• Support professional development of personal trainers through coaching sessions and continuous support.
• Communicate goals, expectations, and procedures clearly to staff.
• Supervise facility maintenance and cleanliness, including equipment and common areas.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintain certifications, and implement safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 2‑3 years of customer service experience.
• 1 year of sales experience.
• 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent relationship‑building and influencing skills.
• Strong detail orientation, systematic problem‑solving, and good time‑management, organization, and record‑keeping.
• Excellent MS Office skills.
• Interest or prior experience in the fitness industry expected.

Requirements

• Availability to work nights and weekends.
• Successful background check.
• Valid personal training certification.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work in a gym setting, move around gym floors and rooms, and communicate with employees, members, and the public.
• Ability to lift more than 40 lbs and perform repetitive bending.
• Proficiency in using the company computer system for document preparation, data entry, and report review.

Eligible for Additional Compensation

• Variable income opportunities, including commission and bonus.
• Post‑training salary increase.

Pay Range

California: $19.90 – $21.90 USD
