Job summary

The City and County of Honolulu's Honolulu Board of Water Supply seeks an Assistant Field Operations Manager to assist the Program Administrator in leading the division responsible for the island-wide water distribution system.

Key duties include directing 24/7 operations, emergency response leadership, project management, and administrative oversight of budgets, staffing, and policy implementation to ensure reliable water service and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent engineering education.
• Three (3) years of administrative experience in design, construction, installation, or maintenance of a major facilities or systems.
• Possession of a valid professional engineer license in Hawaii; out-of-state licenses must convert to Hawaii license prior to appointment.

Responsibilities

• Directs 24/7 operation and maintenance of the island-wide water distribution system, including pipelines, hydrants, valves, meters, facilities, and related infrastructure.
• Leads emergency response to major system disruptions and serves as on-site incident commander.
• Plans, coordinates, and supervises construction, maintenance and repair of pipelines and related public works.
• Oversees budget development, staffing, performance management, and policy implementation for the division.
• Collaborates with internal units and external agencies for long-term planning and regulatory compliance.
• Performs other related duties as required.
