Job summary

Executive-Personal-Computers, Inc. in Stafford, TX is seeking an Assistant Facility Manager to support day-to-day facility operations.

You will assist the Facility Manager, supervise staff, and help maintain productivity, safety, and KPI targets in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role requires at least three years in operations with supervisory experience, strong communication, MS Office proficiency, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years in a warehouse/production/distribution environment.
  • Minimum of one year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and with the Facility Manager and other departments.

Brief Summary of Duties

  • Support the Facility Manager in the overall leadership and day-to-day operation of the facility, maintaining effective communication on operational priorities, staffing needs, performance concerns, and other matters affecting facility goals.
  • Serve as the acting Facility Manager when needed and be prepared to assume responsibility for facility operations during the Facility Manager’s absence.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to supervisors and staff while promoting accountability, teamwork, open communication, and a positive work environment.
  • Oversee assigned production and operational areas to ensure supervisors and employees meet established productivity, quality, safety, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, and operational standards are consistently communicated, followed, and enforced throughout the facility.
  • Monitor employee and departmental performance, provide timely and constructive feedback, recognize positive contributions, and address performance concerns when necessary.
  • Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts through team meetings, process review, troubleshooting, and active on-the-floor leadership.
  • Hiring, disciplinary, scheduling, and performance review duties for the department.
  • Support employee training and development to ensure staff have the knowledge and resources necessary to perform their responsibilities effectively.
  • Assist with year-end physical inventory, routine inventory control, reconciliation activities, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Promote a safe, organized, and efficient work environment while supporting company safety, quality, environmental, and operational requirements.
  • Assist with facility-related issues and emergencies as necessary, including being available outside normal business hours when required.

Experience and/or Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a warehouse, production, distribution, or similar operational environment.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop employees while holding individuals and teams accountable for established expectations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and operational demands while making sound and timely decisions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify issues and assist in implementing effective solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively collaborating with the Facility Manager, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to changing business needs, new processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to meet the scheduling and availability requirements of the position, including responding to facility emergencies when necessary.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions including walking the production floor, or repetitive movements, sitting, standing, bending, twisting and the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

Experience and/or Education Preferred

  • Previous experience supervising a staff of 15 or more employees.
  • Experience working in a production environment with established productivity, quality, or performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001, e-Stewards, or similar environmental, quality, or industry certification standards.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, technology, or IT asset disposition (ITAD) operations.
  • Experience with inventory control, reconciliation, and physical inventory processes.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, process development, or operational problem-solving initiatives.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification as required.
