Job summary

EPC, Inc. in Columbia, SC is seeking an IT Production Technician – Audit to evaluate and process marketable IT assets, including notebooks, systems, and monitors. You will test, grade, and erase data to meet resale standards and support EPC’s secure asset disposition processes.

You will work in a collaborative Audit team, document records, prepare equipment for resale, and ensure compliance with quality and security procedures while meeting daily production goals.

Responsibilities

• Test, diagnose, and sort Notebooks, Systems, and Monitors to determine resale eligibility.
• Perform data erasure activities, including hard drive wiping and documentation.
• Document conditional issues, logs, inventory, and erasure records in EPC’s Inventory Management Software.
• Clean and prepare IT equipment for resale using appropriate tools.
• Consistently meet or exceed daily production goals and maintain high standards.
• Follow written procedures and quality standards to ensure consistency and compliance.

The IT Production Technician – Audit is responsible for the final evaluation and processing of marketable IT assets to include Notebooks, Systems, and Monitors. This role focuses on testing, grading, and data eradication to ensure equipment meets resale standards. The technician plays a critical role in quality assurance and works collaboratively within the Audit team to support EPC’s secure and compliant asset disposition processes

Brief Summary of Duties

• Work collaboratively within a team-based environment, supporting shared goals and managed workflows.
• Conduct testing, diagnostics, and sorting of Notebooks, Systems, and Monitors, ensuring proper asset tracking for resale eligibility, through proprietary systems and processes.
• Perform final assessment on re-marketable assets based on established quality and functionality criteria.
• Perform data eradication activities, including hard drive wiping and documentation, in accordance with EPC security and compliance standards.
• Accurately document conditional issues, logs, product inventory, and erasure records in EPC’s Inventory Management Software
• Clean and prepare IT equipment for resale or transfer, utilizing tools such as vacuums and hand tools, while applying a specific cleaning regimen.
• Consistently meet or exceed daily production goals and quotas, with a focal point of maintaining high standards.
• Follow written procedures and quality standards precisely to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Handle IT equipment by packing, unpacking, wrapping, sorting, palletizing, and moving items throughout the warehouse using pallet jacks and carts
• Other duties as assigned by department leadership

Experience and/or Education Requirements

Experience and/or Education Preferred

• High School Diploma or GED
• Prior experience in auditing, quality control, data entry, or electronics testing environments.
• Familiarity with data eradication or secure handling of electronic devices.
• Able to collaborate within a team environment, share information, and execute managed direction.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• High level of accuracy in documentation and system entries.
