Orange County in North Carolina seeks a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance and repairs across county facilities, inspect building systems, and coordinate service requests from facility users.
You will provide in-field oversight to ensure priority work orders are completed on time and to standard, plan and assign tasks, and respond during emergencies or severe weather events. A valid NC driver's license, background check, and drug screening are required.
The work is primarily responsible for supporting the maintenance and operational readiness of County facilities including inspecting building systems, monitoring maintenance and repair work, and interacting with facility users to address service needs and concerns. An employee in this class is responsible for providing in-field oversight to ensure priority work orders are properly assigned, completed on time, and meet established maintenance standards.
The work is performed under the general supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Manager with considerable leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, in the performance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work and in making decisions regarding client needs and requests. Supervision of assigned staff is a responsibility of this class. Does related work as required.
