Job summary

Methodist Hospital is seeking a Facilities Access Assistant to join our team and help ensure safe access for patients and visitors. You will provide facility information and escort individuals with limited mobility to their destinations, including wheelchair assistance and walking escorts.

The role is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule; training on wheelchair use and lifting/moving assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to interact and communicate verbally.
• Able to withstand long periods of walking, standing, and pushing wheelchairs.
• Able to withstand various types of weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide facility information and safe access assistance to community members.
• Escort persons of limited mobility to requested destinations.
• Assist with wheelchair handling and walking escorts.
• Submit written incident reports for Risk Management review.

Position Summary

The Facilities Access Assistant provides facility information and safe access assistance to members of the community utilizing PNHS facilities. Provide or assist with escorting persons of limited mobility to requested destinations. Wheelchair assistance and walking escorts are included. Training in wheelchair use and lifting/moving assistance is provided. Submit written reports on incidents observed or reported for evaluation by Risk Management or the Department of Safety & Security.

Work Schedule

FTE: 1.0 Monday-Friday between 7:45am-5:15pm.
