• Familiarity with vertical band saws, cold saws, die grinders, sanders, and similar shop tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality parts.
• Ability to take direction well and follow instructions accurately.
• Basic math and measuring skills, including fractions and decimals.
• Dependable attendance and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Cut, roll, bend, trim, and prepare brass, carbon steel, and stainless steel parts to size using various saws and forming tools.
• Deburr, grind, blend, and finish parts with die grinders, sanders, files, and other tools.
• Read and follow work orders, prints, and verbal instructions to spec parts.
• Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and surface finish using calipers and tape measures.
• Handle parts carefully to avoid scratches and damage, especially brass and stainless steel.
• Take direction from Operations Manager and experienced fabricators and ask questions when unclear.
• Stack, sort, label finished parts and complete basic production paperwork.
• Perform basic care of tools and equipment, report malfunctions or quality concerns.
• Maintain clean, organized work area per 5S standards.
• Follow safety procedures, including PPE usage, guarding, and lockout/tagout.
• Stand/walk up to 10 hours per shift; lift most parts under 15 lbs; team lift heavier items.
• Twisting, reaching, stooping, bending; repetitive hand/wrist motions during finishing.
• Work in noisy, dusty environment with metal particles; wear hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves.
