Job summary

Hotel Californian is seeking an Assistant F+B Manager to work closely with the F+B Manager and Director of F+B Operations. You will help manage Goat Tree, Tan Tan Pool Deck, and IRD functions in line with hotel standards, directing service, training staff, and handling administrative tasks.

The role requires supervising staff, assisting in scheduling, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining beverage and dining service quality. A strong guest-service mindset is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and ability to learn POS systems.
• Proficient in English communication, both written and spoken.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and make quick, sound decisions.
• Strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
• Food Handlers Certificate.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of restaurant reservation software (OpenTable) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist F+B Manager in preparing weekly staff schedules per guidelines and forecasts.
• Monitor staff performance across all service areas; train or correct as needed.
• Monitor performance and alert management to potential issues; take action.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and complaints.
• Guard guest and hotel information confidentiality and security.
• Perform cash handling duties including POS, registers, and daily reports.
• Oversee events, large parties, private dining and IRD in Manager's absence.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily specials to staff.
