Job summary

Harper Associates is seeking an experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Director for an upscale boutique hotel in Michigan. You will help lead restaurant, bar, banquet, and catering operations alongside senior leadership to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive food & beverage management experience.
• Hotel, resort, country club, or upscale restaurant experience preferred.
• Strong banquet and event operations experience.
• Proven leadership ability with a passion for developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing multiple food & beverage outlets simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of labor management, service standards, and financial performance.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily leadership of restaurant, bar, banquet, and catering operations.
• Ensure exceptional guest service while maintaining the highest hospitality standards.
• Lead, coach, and develop front-of-house managers and team members.
• Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Coordinate banquet and special event execution with the culinary and operations teams.
• Monitor labor costs, beverage costs, and operational efficiencies.
• Maintain all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Help drive revenue through service excellence, upselling, and operational improvements.
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and create memorable guest experiences.
• Collaborate with hotel leadership on promotions, special events, and operational initiatives.
