Job summary

St. Mary's University of San Antonio seeks an Assistant Executive Director, Annual Giving to lead a comprehensive, data-driven annual giving program across traditional, digital, and AI-enhanced channels.

The role oversees VEO initiatives, donor engagement, and multi-channel strategies aligned with university goals. You will collaborate with the AVP of Development and Campaigns, manage operations and budgets, develop compelling content, and drive performance with data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• 5 years of proven or applicable experience in annual giving and/or project management preferred.
• Experience using crowdfunding platforms preferred.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar programs.
• Experience utilizing data to develop informed giving strategies; familiarity with AI tools preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Raiser's Edge; experience with virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel; background check clearance.
• Ability to plan, partner, and build relationships to sustain gifts and grow giving.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements the comprehensive annual fund campaign and manages the annual fund calendar.
• Develops centralized, multi-channel annual giving strategy aligned with university goals.
• Manages annual giving operations, including budget, contracts, procurement, and production schedules.
• Collaborates with Marketing and Communications to create content and collateral.
• Designs donor engagement initiatives to increase participation and retention; analyzes campaign performance.
• Oversees annual fund reporting and moves management, identifying solutions for performance gaps.
• Uses multi-channel solicitation strategies informed by data segmentation; oversees VEO messaging and journeys.
• Maintains digital tools and donor experiences across webpages, forms, email campaigns, and social platforms.
• Identifies major gift potential donors and coordinates with stewardship to upgrade giving levels.
• Coordinates reunion gifts, giving days, and fundraising events; supports gift officers.
