Job summary

Bayview Services Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking an entry-level professional to join our Sales & Estimating Department.

This full-time role offers growth opportunities as you learn bid processes, takeoffs, and client coordination. You will attend pre-bid meetings, review specifications, prepare quantity takeoffs, obtain quotations, and assist with contract submissions and work plans while developing MS Word/Excel skills and basic project management capabilities.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-bid meetings to understand site conditions.
• Review specs to determine materials, applications and scope.

• Obtain vendor and subcontractor quotations as needed.
• Assist with submission of contract documents and admin packets.
• Support work plan development and submittals for awarded projects.
• Perform other administrative tasks as needed.

Job Type

Full Time – This is an entry level position with opportunity for growth in Bayview’s Sales & Estimating Department.

Reports To

Director of Sales & Estimating

Responsibilities

Estimating

• Attend pre-bid meetings to familiarize yourself with the job site conditions as necessary.
• Review and evaluate project specifications to determine proper materials, applications and scope of work.
• Initiate appropriate correspondence with the customer to clarify vague or unclear statements or specifications, prior to finalizing takeoff.
• Complete quantity takeoffs and summations of material.
• Obtain vendor and subcontractor quotations as required.
• Attend business development meetings, seminars and client briefings related to the industry to identify potential opportunities and future targets.
• Deliver bid packages as required for formal bids.

Project Management

• Assist Estimators with submission of contract documents to Admin for review by corporate management.
• Assist with compiling/submitting job packets to Admin.
• Assist with work plan development and other submittals for awarded projects as required.
• Assist with work order (tag) processing as required.
• Other administrative tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications
