Cherokee Town and Country Club in Sandy Springs, GA is seeking a full-time Assistant Equipment Technician / Mechanic to join our golf course maintenance team. This hands-on role fixes and maintains golfing equipment, including mowers, tractors, and small engines, and requires sharp troubleshooting skills.

The position offers a starting wage of $25.00 per hour, based on experience, with benefits such as uniforms, employee golf privileges, meals while on duty, and employee recognition programs.

Qualifications

• Experience with small engine repair (2-cycle and 4-cycle).
• Prior experience sharpening mower blades.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift/move heavy objects and work outdoors in various weather.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive, problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues in golf course maintenance equipment.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on mowers, tractors, and small engines.
• Grind reels and bed knives; sharpen rotary blades for mowing equipment.
• Diagnose and repair 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines, gasoline and diesel-powered.
• Follow proper procedures for recycling and disposal of fluids.
• Keep work area safe, clean, and organized; report needs to Equipment Manager or Superintendents.
