Job summary

Hyatt Regency Frisco – Dallas is seeking an Assistant Engineering Director to oversee the daily operation of the hotel's facilities, including HVAC, electrical, refrigeration and kitchen systems. This role reports to the Director of Engineering and requires flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends.

Ideal candidates bring 5-7 years in hotel/building maintenance with supervisory experience and strong leadership, communication, and energy-management skills to maintain high standards

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and team development skills to effectively communicate with colleagues.
• 5-7 years in a hotel, hospital, or building, including at least 4 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong background in HVAC (VRF Systems), refrigeration, commercial kitchens (hot and cold side), boilers, plumbing, electrical and laundry.
• Requires advanced knowledge of building management/engineering.
• Exceptional time management, detail driven and organizational process planning.
• Professional demeanor with exceptional verbal, written and electronic communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of the entire facilities, including all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, kitchens and related equipment.
• Lead and support maintenance colleagues; ensure energy conservation and preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure guest and colleague areas reflect proactively maintained esthetic.
• Flexibility in scheduling — including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.

Hyatt Regency Frisco is conveniently located just 25 minutes north of Dallas, offering 303 guestrooms and 27,500 square feet of flexible event space. This 18-story hotel sits in the heart of Frisco, Texas, at Stonebriar Centre—steps away from Dr Pepper Ballpark, Toyota Stadium (home of FC Dallas), the Frisco Discovery Center, and a variety of dining and entertainment options.

The Assistant Director of Engineering will report directly to the Director of Engineering to help lead and support the maintenance colleagues and ensure facilities and systems operate properly. The Assistant Director of Engineering will oversee the daily operation of the entire facilities, including the physical building structures, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, refrigeration, kitchens and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventive maintenance programs. Ensure the guest and colleague areas reflect a proactively maintained esthetic. Flexibility in scheduling — including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays — is required.
