Job summary

PENN Entertainment in Louisiana is hiring an Assistant Engineer to support the safe, reliable operation of the casino vessel's machinery and life-safety systems. You will assist with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordination with engineers and contractors to minimize disruption to casino operations.

The role requires experience in marine engineering or related fields, knowledge of diesel gensets, electrical distribution, and preventive maintenance practices; relevant

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/maritime training preferred.
3+ years experience in marine engineering or related field preferred.
Experience aboard casino vessels or commercial ships is a plus.
Ability to read manuals, diagrams, and safety documents; maintain records.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of vessel machinery and supporting systems.
Monitor generators, switchgear, pumps, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Maintain logs, work orders, and regulatory documentation.
Provide coordination with Captain and other departments to ensure safety and continuity of operations.
Support inspections and compliance with federal, state, local, and gaming authorities.
