Applicants need two years of full-time professional-level mechanical engineering experience, including building plan review, mechanical adequacy assessment, and advising design professionals on code and design issues. They must also meet one education or credential option: a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, a state-issued Engineer-in-Training certificate, or professional mechanical engineer registration; qualifying experience may substitute for missing education.
