Salem Montessori School in Virginia is hiring a Full-time Lower Elementary Classroom Assistant to help create a peaceful, engaging learning environment. You'll work with a Montessori Guide to support students' independence, confidence, and love of learning.

SMS is currently hiring for a Full-time assistant to work with Lower Elementary students!

Your Role as an Elementary Assistant

As our Lower Elementary Classroom Assistant, you'll help create a peaceful, engaging learning environment where children develop independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. Working alongside an experienced Montessori Guide, you'll support students in their daily discoveries while growing your own skills as an educator. Expectations:

• Monday-Friday
• 40 hrs/week
• Ability to be on your feet
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and be active with the children
• Ability to conduct chores apart from childcare (cleaning, etc.)
• Willingness to engage with young children and other staff members

Requirements:

• Ages 18 or older
• High School Diploma
• CPR and First Aid Certified or willing to be certified
• Experience with children (preferred)
• Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
• We conduct random drug testing
