Job summary

ESPO Corporation seeks an Assistant Electrical Detailer to support planning, design, and documentation for telecom projects in Cary, NC. The role focuses on Revit modeling, 2D/3D drafting, and BIM coordination within a project team.

The ideal candidate has a drafting background with 2–4+ years of related experience, strong Revit/AutoCAD/Excel skills, and the ability to learn new software. This is a 12-month contract with potential for hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in drafting technology or related field with min 2 years experience OR Associate degree with min 3 years experience OR HS diploma with min 4 years experience
• Bachelor degree in any engineering field is not allowed for this role
• Internship experience doesn’t count towards experience
• Strong understanding of design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Excel
• Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software; Autodesk Revit preferred
• Ability to use 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings
• Basic knowledge in telecommunications design, calculations, and systems
• Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Engineers and Designers in a multi-disciplinary team
• Legally authorized to work permanently in the country where position located

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, site evaluations, analytical designs, report prep, and construction documentation
• Design and model telecom project types including pathway infrastructure, equipment layouts, cabling, and BIM models
• Lead setup of telecommunications Revit models at project start for telecom design team
• Prepare engineering drawings from rough sketches using Revit and CAD software
• Produce initial designs and redline/mark-up drawings with limited oversight
• Apply design codes and specifications and complete drawings within budget and schedule
• Organize and maintain revisions and project information using prescribed methods
• Coordinate BIM with other disciplines and ensure data integrity
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies

Assistant Electrical "Revit " Detailer
12 month contract to hire
Pay Rate: $25-$29/hr

Job Description:

• The Assistant Electrical Detailer will assist in various phases of planning, site evaluations, analytical designs, report preparation, and construction documentation as part of a project team. This role will require work on a diverse portfolio of project types and clients.
• Designing and modeling various telecommunication project types, including physical pathway infrastructure designs (inside and outside plant), equipment plan layouts, structured cabling layouts, and management of 3D Revit models. Follow all company, client, and project design and drafting standards.
• Lead the setup of telecommunications Revit models according to project requirements at the beginning of a project for the telecom design team.
• Prepare engineering drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information (verbal instructions and notes) using Revit and other CAD software programs.
• Assist with a variety of assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques, including drawing sequence and presentation, refining rough sketches, sizing various system components, problem analysis, and performing calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
• Produce initial designs or sketches and redline/mark-up drawings on ongoing projects with limited engineering oversight.
• Apply design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
• Complete and review design drawings within scope, budget, and schedule. Perform project tasks and assignments within budgeted hours and deadlines.
• Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, and project-related information using prescribed methods and standards.
• Responsible for telecommunications BIM coordination with other disciplines and the overall project BIM coordination.
• Responsible for telecommunications model health and data integrity for assigned projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in drafting technology or related field and min 2 years related experience OR Associate Degree and min 3 years related experience OR High School Diploma/GED and min 4 years progressive detailing and design experience is Required.
• Bachelors degree in any engineering field is not allowed for this role.
• Internship experience doesn't count towards the years of experience.
• Strong understanding of design software such as: Revit, AutoCAD, and Excel to develop the design deliverables.
• Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software and programs. Experience in Autodesk Revit is strongly preferred.
• Ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.
• Basic knowledge in telecommunications design, calculations, and systems.
• Basic knowledge in the theory and practices of the engineering discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers) in a multi-disciplinary project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
