Job summary

ESPO Corporation is seeking an Assistant Electrical Detailer for an onsite, 12-month role in Albuquerque, NM or Phoenix, AZ. The position supports plans, prepares non-routine drawings, and collaborates with project teams across diverse clients.

You will assist in full drawing production, maintain CAD proficiency, and help manage project scope, schedule and budget. Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in drafting technology or related field with 2+ years experience; or Associate degree with 3+ years; or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years detailing experience.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel; ability to learn new programs.
• Some GIS background would be great.
• Ability to utilize 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.
• Basic knowledge in design, calculations and engineering disciplines; familiarity with related software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with multi-discipline teams.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S.

Job Description

This is an onsite position; no remote/no hybrid.

An Assistant Electrical Detailer will assist with plans and prepare non-routine drawings with complex features using information from rough sketches, detailed engineering notes or brief verbal guidance. This position will work on various projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients.

• Produce project deliverables in an efficient and budget conscious manner.
• Assist with CAD drawing production and project execution.
• Printing, scanning and submitting drawing packages.
• Maintain high CAD proficiency and mastery of current CAD systems.
• Effectively use multiple application packages where necessary.

• Review and adhere to project scope, schedule and budget.
• Resource management.
• Identification of priority tasks and implementing plans of execution.
• Communicate with team and management workload.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in drafting technology or related field and min 2 years related experience Required or Associate Degree and min 3 years related experience Required or High School Diploma/GED and 4 years progressive detailing and design experience is Required.
• Basic understanding of design software such as: AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel to develop the design deliverables. Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs.
• Some GIS background would be great.
• Ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.
• Basic knowledge in design, calculations and design systems.
• Basic knowledge in the theory and practices of engineering discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
