Job summary

ESPO Corporation is seeking an Electrical CAD Technician to support design teams in Albuquerque or Phoenix on a 12 month contract. You will assist in creating world-class CAD detail, developing drafting solutions and preparing drawings.

Responsibilities include revising engineering drawings, adhering to standards, and contributing to ongoing drafting improvements. Strong CAD skills, GIS exposure, and excellent communication are required; leadership and a proactive learning mindset are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED with drafting technology coursework.
• CAD background with some GIS experience preferred.
• Specialized CAD certification preferred.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• AutoCAD experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist technical teams of detailers, designers and engineers to create detailed drawings and CAD solutions.
• Prepare and revise drawings and plot drawings in line with standards.
• Adhere to company and client drafting standards and discipline practices.
• Draft design and documentation for various projects and tasks.
• Utilize standard drafting detail programs and contribute to continuous drafting improvements.
• Research solutions to project concerns and propose design improvements.
• Support managers with ad hoc projects as assigned.

Job Description

• The Electrical CAD Technician will assist technical teams of detailers, designers and engineers to create world class detail on a variety of projects. This position will assist in developing computer-aided drafting design solutions.
• Assist with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.
• Assist with preparing and revising plot drawings.
• Responsible for adhering to company and client drafting standards and procedures.
• Responsible for adhering to the drafting practices of selected discipline.
• Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.
• Assist with tasks utilizing standard drafting detail programs.
• Assist in continuous drafting detail improvement efforts.
• Research solutions to project concerns and recommend solutions to design problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Min High School Diploma/GED AND course work in drafting technology is Required.
• Candidate with CAD background with some experience in GIS is preferred.
