Job summary

C&I is seeking a full-time Assistant Electrical Designer to join our Power & Controls team. You will develop electrical, instrument, and control designs, and perform computer-based design and planning tasks on diverse projects.

You should have a two-year technical college background in CAD/Electrical drafting and related experience in a multi-discipline environment. Travel to offices, vendor shops, and sites may be required up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a two-year technical college with CAD/Electrical drafting training.
• Related work experience in a multi-discipline engineering environment is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically or internationally.
• TWIC and background checks may be required.
• Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare models, drawings, and design sketches from guidance by a Senior Designer or Engineer.
• Assist in preparation of design packages for routine projects.
• Ensure quality and consistency of drafting per client and CAD standards.
• Travel to gather field information and verify drawings.

Job description

We are currently seeking a full-timeAssistant Electrical Designerin our office to help us achieve our company mission. This person will be part of the Power & Controls team which is responsible for developing designs for electrical, instrument and control systems and performing a variety of computer-based design, engineering, and planning tasks on projects. C&I is a full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepares models, drawings, and design sketches from directions given by a Senior Designer or Engineer either verbally or in writing.
• Assists in preparation or complete design packages for routine projects that meet design intents and customer expectations.
• Ensures quality by producing work that is accurate, complete, and consistent.
• The Assistant Electrical Designer travels independently to gather field information for the project team and verifies own drawings.
• Ensures drafting meets client and C&I CAD standards.
• Compiles material summaries and bills of materials from project drawings while considering the relative cost of design alternatives.
• Graduation from a two-year technical college with specialized training in computer-aided mechanical, electrical, or architectural drafting and design.
• Related work experience including preparing construction documents in a multi-discipline engineering environment demonstrating a progressive increase in responsibility and technical difficulty of work.
• Develops technical and leadership skills through independent self-development, formal training, and on-the-job opportunities
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally to o?ces, vendor shops, and project sites. Travel may be up to 10%
• Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.
• Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any required background checks.
• Performs work in a safe manner in accordance with C&I and client requirements.
• Valid Driver’s License
