Job summary

Valaris Limited is seeking an Assistant Driller to support planning and execution of drilling operations. You will ensure drill crews are assigned, keep the team informed of plan changes, and verify maintenance on drilling, hoisting and mud equipment in a safe, efficient manner.

You will mentor crew members, follow the well program, maintain records and logs, and uphold Valaris' safety standards on the rig. Loyal teamwork and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Three years offshore experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
• Completion of all offshore training and certification requirements.
• Knowledge of technical calculations required for safe operation of the drilling unit.

Responsibilities

• Follows standard instructions and communicates with the Driller and Toolpusher; notifies concerns and documents deviations.
• Ensures operations are planned, organized, supervised and executed per well programs and rig move plans.
• Performs the drilling department’s daily checks.
• Assists service partners with equipment preparation for upcoming drilling operations.
• Organizes and supervises drilling crews for all operations.
• Operates pipe handling equipment for main and offline activities.
• Assists and relieves the Driller during drilling operations.
• Reads gauges and meters and assists the driller with records and logs.
