Job summary

Valaris Limited seeks an Assistant Derrickhand to work in the mud pump room, supporting the Derrickhand and assisting with operating and maintaining drilling fluid pumping, treatment, and mixing systems on offshore rigs. You will assist in drilling operations at main or auxiliary well centers, ensure safe performance, complete daily checks, and maintain records with a proper handover at shift end.

Offshore experience on floating rigs is preferred; good communication and basic computer skills are

Qualifications

• Offshore experience including time on a floating rig (preferably drillship).
• Good communication skills (oral and written).
• Basic computer skills.
• Completion of all training and certification requirements for the Assistant Derrick hand position as described in the training matrix.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor mud pumps, mud tanks, and fluid treatment systems.
• Assist Derrickhand and relieve as required.
• Maintain records of fluid transfers, treatments, and properties.
• Line up mud pumps, tanks, and flow paths; monitor oil levels.
• Perform preventive maintenance on drilling fluid pumping and treatment equipment.
