Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Lake Bluff, IL seeks an Assistant District Manager to help grow district operations, lead teams outdoors, and promote company policies. You will assist in directing the crew, sales team, and office staff while delivering high-quality tree care solutions to residential and commercial clients.

Ideal candidates hold ISA Arborist certification and a valid driver's license, with strong plant knowledge and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• ISA Certified Arborist® certification required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Regional plant and horticulture knowledge.
• Strong people skills; self-motivated; computer proficiency.
• Knowledge and experience with tree care, hazard tree evaluation, integrated pest management.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses and state licenses, if required by state law.
• Preferred: 2- or 4-year degree in a green industry.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Work as a tree doctor that makes house calls.
• Educate residential and commercial customers on the needs of their trees.
• Provide customers with estimates based on their needs.
• Develop and update annual plant health care programs.
• Create and build relationship with new and existing clients.
• Set up, supervise, and train crew members, sales team, and office staff.
• As part of the office management team you assist the District Manager in the direction of the team.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

• ISA Certified Arborist®
• Valid driver’s license
• Regional plant and horticulture knowledge
• Good people skills; self-motivated; computer proficient and organized
• Must be knowledgeable and experienced with tree care, hazard tree evaluation, integrated pest management and industry approved tree care practices
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: Two or Four-year degree in a green industry
