Job summary

Family Health Center of Worcester, Inc. seeks an Assistant Director to support the WIC program's planning, staffing, and operations. You will assist the WIC Director, help recruit and train staff, and ensure adherence to state and federal WIC standards.

You will monitor program operations, handle special projects, and manage staffing levels while supporting quality improvements and service delivery for participants in the Worcester area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health, human service or related field preferred; four years of directly related experience and Associates degree may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 3 years closely related and relevant experience; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Massachusetts Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist or Registered Dietitian preferred.
• Bilingual in English and another language appropriate to patient population preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and recommending for hire new staff for the program.

• Ensure compliance with State/Federal WIC standards and FHCW policies and procedures.
• Handle special projects and order supplies/materials for the WIC program.
• Monitor WIC operations and report quality and compliance issues to WIC Director.
• Develop performance improvement plans for quality issues with staff and WIC Director.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels by managing time-off requests.
• Complete staff evaluations in a timely manner.
• Monitor participant eligibility to ensure site visit quality meets state standards.
• Review records and reports on participants; document and investigate complaints.

Job description

The Assistant Director assists the WIC Director in planning organizing, staffing, and managing operational and evaluation activities as assigned.

Program Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists with recruiting, interviewing, and recommending for hire new staff for the program.
• Plans and implements training, including customer service, and provides on-going supervision of staff.
• Ensures compliance in regards to State/Federal WIC standards and FHCW policies and procedures.
• Handles special projects as assigned, and will order supplies/materials for the WIC program.

• Documents, reports, and investigates participant complaints.
• Any and all other duties as assigned.
