Job summary

Lyon College in Batesville, AR, is seeking an APPLE Project Upward Bound Assistant Director to lead grade-based mentoring and curriculum development for Academic Sessions. You will coordinate with campus staff to meet program objectives and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will oversee data collection for performance reporting, supervise part-time staff, and recruit new participants while coordinating transportation for sessions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred in education, social work, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a TRIO federal program or similar program serving economically disadvantaged, first-generation college students, and/or students with disabilities.
• Understanding of holistic support services, development of individual service plans, financial aid and literacy programming, and program retention.
• Commitment to supporting academic needs of students facing barriers through coaching/advising, counseling, instruction, advocacy, and/or education.
• Current driver’s license and ability to drive college-owned vehicles as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and implementation of strategic plan for grade-based mentoring and curriculum for Academic Sessions.
• Coordinate with Curriculum and Programming Coordinator to develop objectives for Modified Student Programming.
• Develop and oversee an assessment plan for programming and student progress.
• Lead data collection for annual performance reports and program evaluation.
• Coordinate participant paperwork formatting and information collection strategies.
• Arrange transportation with school personnel for Academic and Summer Sessions.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise part-time and support staff including mentors and summer staff.
• Provide guidance to Administrative and Outreach Coordinator and staff; conduct regular staff meetings.
• Maintain enrollment and service data to drive recruitment and annual targets.
• Assist in recruitment efforts and onboarding of new participants; conduct interviews and orientation sessions.
• Collaborate with target school personnel on program needs and student success.
• Serve as Academic Advisor to program participants and conduct advising sessions.
• Lead Summer Session planning in coordination with UBMS Assistant Director.
• Submit workshop proposals for Summer Session and teach if selected.
• Participate in professional development activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of TRIO.
