Job summary

Boston University seeks an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Programs and Records to lead the advising team for engineering undergraduates. You will guide course selection, verify degree requirements, and support policy interpretation within the BU Hub framework.

You will also help develop retention programs, coordinate major events, and supervise academic advisors, with additional responsibilities during peak times and occasional after-hours work.

Qualifications

• Requires resume and cover letter.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in relevant area.
• Knowledge of student development theory.
• Experience in advising and problem solving.
• Strong written and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and managerial skills.
• Knowledge of admissions/recruitment techniques.
• Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, databases and web tools.

Responsibilities

• Head the Undergraduate Programs Office advising team for engineering students.
• Assist in course selection and verify degree requirements including BU Hub.
• Advise students on academic programs and retention initiatives.
• Coordinate events such as Commencement, Open House, Orientation and career fairs; occasional evenings/weekends.
