Job summary

Northwestern University’s Developmental Therapeutics Core (DTC) seeks a Sr Research Associate and Assistant Director to provide scientific, operational, financial, and regulatory leadership for growth of this translational research resource. The role oversees multiple complex projects, drives strategic planning with the Advisory Board, and mentors technical staff.

Qualifications

• PhD in biological sciences, pharmacology, biomedical sciences, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant research associate, laboratory, translational research, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, CRO, or core facility experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with investigators to define study objectives, designs, timelines and budgets.
• Independently manage multiple complex projects and stakeholders with minimal supervision.
• Develop strategic plans for the Core, including scientific growth and financial sustainability.
• Prepare and present Core utilization metrics and performance at biannual Advisory Board meetings.
• Oversee staff hiring, training, supervision, and mentorship.
