The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Student Niner Media Advising and Support. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree with two years of media experience, or an equivalent combination, with preferred Master’s degree and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of media experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Supervisory experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of media law and ethics and AP Style.
• Experience advising and training in higher education media environments.
• Experience across print, production, advertising, online, podcasting or video.

Responsibilities

• Provide training, advising, and development for students in Student Niner Media.
• Support production and distribution of media with requisite technology.
• Supervise student employees and interns.
• Provide administrative support for Student Niner Media organizations and initiatives.
• Lead departmental training and outreach efforts.
• Collaborate with the Director and colleagues to assess and improve programs.
