Assistant Director, Student LifeOperations
Job Summary

The AssistantDirector of Student Life Operations provides operational,technical, and administrative leadership for Husky Card Services,Residential Security, and Student Life technology systems tosupport a safe, secure, and student-centered campus environment.This position is responsible for the administration of campuscredentialing, electronic access control systems, residentialsecurity technologies, meal plan administration and reconciliation,and customer service operations related to campus identificationand access services. The Assistant Director oversees the integrityof meal plan assignments, resolves account discrepancies, partnerswith Dining Services to ensure accurate billing and reconciliation,and delivers a seamless customer experience for students, faculty,staff, and guests. The position is also responsible forimplementing operational improvements, supporting enterprisetechnology initiatives, and managing system integrations thatenhance security, improve operational efficiency, and strengthenthe student experience. Working collaboratively with Housing andResidential Life, Public Safety, Information Technology Services,Facilities, Dining Services, Enrollment Management, and otherStudent Life departments, the Assistant Director ensures theeffective operation of campus access and credentialing systemswhile maintaining critical security infrastructure and supportingthe University's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities &Accountabilities
Husky Card ServicesAdministration
  • Oversee thedaily operations of Husky Card Services, including the issuance,replacement, and lifecycle management of university identificationcredentials.

Administer campus credentialing and electronic access permissions forstudents, faculty, staff, affiliates, and guests. Maintain theintegrity of campus cardholder databases while ensuring compliancewith University policies and applicable privacy regulations. Coordinatewith Housing, Public Safety, Dining Services, Athletics, Libraries,and other campus partners to support access privileges acrossuniversity facilities. Administerelectronic access control systems by assigning, modifying,auditing, and removing building access permissions. Partner withDining Services to support point-of-sale technologies, troubleshootmeal plan access issues, and coordinate operationalimprovements. Manage mealplan administration, reconciliation, and account corrections toensure accurate student billing and exceptional customerservice. Develop andmanage communications, website content, social media, and servicenotifications related to Husky Card Services.

Residential Security and AccessOperations
  • Support theadministration of residential security technologies that promote asafe and secure living environment.

Coordinatewith Residential Security, Housing and Residential Life, PublicSafety, and Facilities to ensure reliable operation of electronicaccess systems. Provide operational oversight for electronic locking systems, accesscontrol hardware, surveillance technologies, and related securityinfrastructure. Monitorsystem performance, investigate access issues, and coordinatetimely resolution of security-related incidents. Conductroutine security audits, access reviews, and operationalassessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommendimprovements. Assist inplanning and implementing security enhancements, technologyupgrades, and new residential access initiatives.

Operational Leadership and CustomerService
  • Serve as theprimary operational resource for Husky Card Services, ResidentialSecurity, meal plan administration, and related technologyservices.

Deliverexceptional customer service by responding to inquiries throughwalk-in service, telephone, email, and ServiceNow. Resolvecomplex account issues involving campus credentials, accesspermissions, meal plans, billing reconciliation, and technologysystems. Collaboratewith functional and technical stakeholders to gather operationalrequirements and translate business needs into system enhancementsand project plans. Leadoperational improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery,automate business processes, and improve data quality. Develop andmaintain operational documentation, training materials, knowledgebase articles, and standard operating procedures. Supportproject management activities, reporting requirements, systemtesting, and implementation of new technologies.

Student LifeTechnology Support (10%)
  • Provide technical support for Student Life technology resources, includingdesktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, point-of-saleequipment, kiosks, and other hardware.

Supportsoftware applications utilized throughout Student Life departments,including installation, troubleshooting, upgrades, permissionsmanagement, and lifecycle support. Deliverin-person, remote, and telephone technical support whilecoordinating with Information Technology Services and externalvendors when necessary. Assist withtechnology deployments, hardware replacements, imaging, backups,inventory management, and operational documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor'sdegree required or an equivalent combination of education andexperience.Three to fiveyears of progressively responsible professional experienceinhigher education, student affairs, campus operations, technologyservices, access control, or a related field.Workingknowledge of electronic access control systems, schedulingsoftware, Microsoft Office 365, and customer service managementplatforms.Experiencesupporting residential life operations, student services, orcomparable customer-facing environments preferred.Demonstratedability to collaborate across departments while managing multiplepriorities in a fast-paced environment.Strongorganizational, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solvingskills.Mechanicalaptitude and the ability to support technology hardwareinstallations.

Expected Hiring Range:

$58,975.00 -$75,000.00

With the pay range(s) shown above, thestarting salary will depend on several factors, which may includeyour education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, andskills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employeesalready in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and aresubject to change
