Job summary

Berea College is seeking an Assistant Director for the Black Cultural Center to administer programs that promote social belonging, academic success, and leadership development for Black students. The role includes supervising the integrated Work-Learning-Services program and mentoring student leaders.

You will support program development, budget management, and collaboration with Admissions to recruit Black students, while guiding ongoing assessment and compliance across Center initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Education, Black or African American History/Studies, or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Black Male Leadership Initiative (BMLI) and Black Women’s Leadership Initiative (BWLI) with budgetary oversight, outcomes, academic curriculum, and mentorship.
• Assist the Director with onboarding and training for student leaders, including Work-Learning-Services teams and student organizations.
