Job summary

Berea College seeks an Assistant Director of Residential Education to lead Hall Directors and oversee residential spaces, advancing the Eight Great Commitments in support of student success and well-being. The role partners with campus entities to create a thriving living-learning environment grounded in service, learning, and inclusion.

You will train staff, supervise hall operations, oversee policies, and help shape residential education programs, budgets, and safety initiatives for a diverse

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education, College Student Personnel, Counseling, Human Development, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Create an academic environment conducive to living-learning and scholarly pursuits.
• Establish and maintain relationships with campus partners and serve as liaison to facilities management.
• Oversees Hall Directors through weekly meetings, training, and retreats.
• Supervises employees and coordinates labor allocation, policy development, and procedures.
• Oversees training and development strategies for Residential Education staff.
• Supports administrative responsibilities for operations, openings/closings, and applications.
• Maintains records with campus partners to ensure compliance and accessibility.
• Participates in on-call rotation for after-hours incidents.
• Serves as Administrative Hearing Officer.
• Assists in policy and curriculum development for Residential Education.
• Oversees marketing, contracts, and the Living Guide for the office.
