Job summary

Berea College is seeking an Assistant Director of the Black Cultural Center to administer programs supporting Black students’ social, personal, and leadership development. The role includes supervising and mentoring students within Berea’s Work College Program, aligning with tenure and promotion criteria.

The position emphasizes leadership development, budget management, grant coordination, and collaboration with admissions and campus partners to promote academic excellence and inclusive student

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred for advancement.
• 3+ years leadership experience in higher education with diverse student populations.
• Experience supervising volunteers, student employees, and/or staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee leadership initiatives and budgeting for Black student programs.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop students in Work College Program contexts.
• Provide advising, mentoring, and coaching to promote academic success and leadership.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate programming that promotes cultural understanding and student engagement.
• Assess programs, report outcomes, and present to college leadership.
