Job summary

Adams State University seeks an innovative Assistant Director of Sports Medicine / Athletic Trainer Lead to modernize our premier sports medicine program and deliver exceptional clinical care to student-athletes.

You will supervise students and staff, manage operations, and ensure compliance with safety and training protocols, while collaborating with the Director to advance program goals on a scenic Colorado campus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Athletic Training and BOC certification with state licensure eligibility.
• Minimum 2 years of professional sports medicine experience required.
• Experience with EMR systems and athletic training workflows preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Sports Medicine Operations and manage scheduling, inventory, and admin workflows.
• Provide clinical athletic training, event coverage, and return-to-play decisions.
• Oversee emergency action plans and environmental safety for teams and events.
• Supervise graduate assistants, interns, and part-time staff.
• Administer DrugFree Sport program, EMR systems, and sports medicine trainings.
