Job summary

Georgia Public Library Service seeks a Library Director-level professional to provide administrative support to the Library Director and oversee library operations. You will lead collection development, supervise staff, and coordinate training to strengthen public services and access to resources.

The role includes pursuing grants and partnerships, and aligning annual goals with the system’s mission. A strong background in public libraries and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• MLS from an ALA-accredited program.
• Georgia G-5 certification.
• 3–5 years of administrative and supervisory experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of collection development.
• Strong public/customer service background.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and professional support to the Library Director.
• Manage collection development and head the Materials Selection Committee.
• Coordinate in-service training and continuing education for staff.
• Assist in hiring, evaluating, and training library staff.
• Pursue funding sources such as grants and collaborations.
