Job summary

Continuum of Care in Middletown, CT is seeking an Assistant Director to oversee Specialized Services, coordinate program operations, and guide care for clients. The role supports staff development, ensures regulatory compliance, and collaborates with community providers to enhance services.

The position calls for a Master’s degree with managerial experience in behavioral health, CT licensure preferred, and a valid CT driver’s license. Strong administrative and clinical leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with at least 3 years’ managerial behavioral health experience; CT licensure preferred.
• Experience with people with serious mental illness, ID, or addiction required.
• Valid CT driver’s license; willing to transport clients in personal vehicle (scattered-site).
• First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
• Knowledge of community support systems and resources preferred.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and electronic records.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development, implementation, scheduling, operation, and evaluation of programming.
• Provide planning, oversight, and active supports for client care and treatment.
• Network with area providers to benefit clients and the agency.
• Interview, train, and develop staff, interns, and volunteers supervised by this role.
• Assign caseloads, schedules, and monitor staff performance.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, licensing, and accreditation.
• Manage program budget, costs, and resources.
• Maintain facilities and ensure a welcoming, organized environment.
• Provide on-call coverage and crisis intervention as needed.
• Oversee charting and documentation for programs.
• Recruitment and hiring with HR; supervise staff.
• Ensure continuity of care delivery.
