Lakeland Regional Health is a leading medical center located in Central Florida. With a legacy spanning over a century, we have been dedicated to serving our community with excellence in healthcare. As the only Provisional Level 1 Trauma center for Polk, Highlands, and Hardee counties, and the second busiest Emergency Department in the US, we are committed to providing high-quality care to our diverse patient population. Our facility is licensed for 910 beds and handles over 200,000 emergency room visits annually, along with 49,000 inpatient admissions, 21,000 surgical cases, 4,000 births, and 101,000 outpatient visits.

Work Hours per Biweekly Pay Period: 80.00

Pay Rate: Min $108,305.60 Mid $135,387.20

The Assistant Director supports the overall operations, clinical quality and administrative functions of the outpatient imaging center(s). This role works closely with the Director of Imaging to ensure efficient workflow, regulatory compliance including ACR standards, high-quality patient care, and staff performance. The Assistant Director serves as a leader for imaging personnel and helps drive operational performance and patient satisfaction. This role will also participate in marketing new centers to area physicians.

  • Assist in overseeing daily operations of the imaging center(s) including MRI, CT, Diagnostic x-ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, Dexa, PET/CT and any other imaging modality added in the future
  • Ensure efficient patient flow, appropriate scheduling and resource utilization
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators and implement process improvements
  • Support budget management, cost control and productivity goals
  • Attain and maintain compliance with accreditation requirements. (ACR, Joint commission etc.) New ACR/MQSA within 18 months of new center(s) opening
  • Supervise, mentor and evaluate all Imaging technologists and support staff. Coordinate ongoing education, training and competencies while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Ensure high levels of patient satisfaction, scheduling and service excellence by addressing any patient concerns and resolving any complaints effectively. Promote a patient centered culture
  • Collaborate with physicians, radiologists and other departments that have an impact on the outpatient center. Promote the center to referring physicians
  • Assist with vendor relations, equipment maintenance and compliance with service contracts
  • Assist the Director of Imaging with strategic planning.
  • Strong leadership, team management and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of imaging modalities and healthcare regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to communicate to leaders any issues or concerns
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to successfully multi-task
  • Proficiency in all computer systems. (PACS, EMR and RIS systems)
