RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Assistant Director of Patient Care (RN) for the Medical-Surgical Unit-I in Livingston, NJ. This salaried role oversees patient care delivery on the day shift and supports the Nurse Manager in maintaining high-quality nursing standards.

The position requires NJ RN licensure, ACLS and BLS certifications, and a BSN is strongly preferred. EPIC experience is desirable, with a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• ACLS certification and current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing strongly preferred; prior patient care management experience is a plus.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems (EPIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages patient care delivery on an assigned shift in the Medical-Surgical Unit-I.
• Supports the Nurse Manager to ensure quality nursing care across units per hospital policies.
• Participates in development of patient care standards, orientation and continuing education.
• Contributes to evaluation of staff performance per organization policies.
• Participates in nursing Quality Improvement efforts.
• Assists with unit administration including scheduling, payroll and supplies management.
• Maintains and models clinical skills to provide patient care.
• Assesses patients' age-specific needs and delivers age-appropriate treatment and care.
