Optalis Healthcare (Health & Rehabilitation Centers) seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing – Staff Development for Woodward Hills Health & Rehab Center in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, you will oversee education and policies to ensure high-quality resident care.

The role requires supervising licensed nurses, coordinating infection control and admissions screening, and driving quality assurance with strong communication and organizational skills.

Job Title: Assistant Director of Nursing

Department: Nursing

Location: Woodward Hills Health & Rehab Center (On-site) Reports To: Director of Nursing

FLSA Status: Salary Exempt

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing Services, the Assistant Director of Nursing assumes delegated responsibility and accountability for the provision of r esident care according to professional standards of nursing practice in compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement nursing policies and procedures that reflect the facility’s mission and philosophy .
• Condudct education, infection control, quality assurance and admissions screening functions as assigned
• Utilize resource s in an efficient and economic manner to ensure that each resident achieves the highest practicable physical, mental and psycho-social well-being .
• Supervises licensed nurses and other nursing personnel in the delivery of care and services according to each resident’s comprehensive resident assessment and plan of care .
• Conduct tours.
• Coordinate timely admission contract completion.
• Work to maintain a census culture within the center.
• Work to maintain and exceed the census goals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate .

Qualifications Required

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

License:

• Current, active license as a Registered Nurse in the practicing state. Must have no restrictions on license .

Experience:

• Two years experience providing direct care to residents in a long-term care setting preferred.
• Prior experience as a Unit Charge Nurse or similar supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time and other physical demands may be required .

Travel Requirements:

• Some local travel may be required .
