Job summary

Maplewood Senior Living in Southport, CT is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (RN Designee) for a full-time role (Tuesday–Saturday) in the Nursing department. The position supports the Resident Services Director in overseeing nursing services and coordinating staff to deliver high-quality resident care.

The ideal candidate is a CT-licensed Registered Nurse with at least one year of experience in assisted living or home care, physically capable of handling tasks up to 50 lbs, and committed

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks up to 50 lbs.
• Strong collaboration with residents, families, peers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Resident Services Director (Director of Nursing) in overseeing nursing services.
• Directs, plans, and coordinates professional and auxiliary nursing staff in delivering resident care.
• Interprets policies and regulations for nursing personnel and ensures full compliance with applicable standards.
• Analyzes and evaluates nursing and related services to maintain and enhance quality of resident care.
• Partners with the Resident Services Director to provide oversight of residents’ healthcare needs, including the medication delivery system.
• Coordinates and supports in-service training for Resident Care Departments.
• Contributes to a team-based approach to quality resident care by supporting residents’ physical, emotional, and social well-being.
• Helps residents maintain the highest possible level of independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse, licensed to practice in the state of Connecticut, with a minimum one-year experience in assisted living or home care
  • A passion for working with seniors is preferred
  • Able to perform tasks which may be physically demanding such as pushing, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers and other staff members.
  • In good physical and emotional health and free of communicable diseases.
