Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered New Jersey Registered Nurse License
• Infection Preventionist Certification required
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in nursing or related field
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in long-term care or post-acute setting preferred
• Prior experience managing staff

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with facility leadership and medical director to develop infection prevention goals and action plans
• Establish a facility-wide system for prevention, identification, investigation, and control of infections
• Maintain records of staff development programs for all personnel
• Ensure nursing staff comply with standards, practices, and regulatory requirements
• Oversee budgeting for the nursing department in coordination with administration
• Implement compliance and quality improvement policies and procedures
• Recruit, train, and onboard new nursing staff
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing

Assistant Director of Nursing/Infection Preventionist Schedule & Benefits

• Schedule: Full-time, Day shift, Monday-Friday, including one weekend per month for On-call rotation

Assistant Director of Nursing/Infection Preventionist Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's Degree
• Current, Unencumbered New Jersey Registered Nurse License
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in long-term care or post-acute setting is preferred
• Infection Preventionist Certification required
• Prior experience managing staff required
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) may be considered based on experience

Assistant Director of Nursing/Infection Preventionist Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the facility leadership and medical director to develop, implement, and evaluate the annual infection prevention goals and action plan
• Establish a facility-wide system for the prevention, identification, investigation, and control of infections of residents, staff, and visitors. This will include surveillance designed to identify possible communicable disease or infections before they spread.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records of on-going staff development programs for all personnel within facility
• Ensure that all nursing personnel in our facility comply with established standards, practices, and regulatory requirements for the highest quality of resident care
• Overseeing the implementation of nursing department budgets in coordination with the facility administration
• Implementing compliance and quality improvement policies, programs, and procedures
• Recruiting, training, and onboarding new nursing staff
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing
