Job summary

Fall River Healthcare in Fall River, MA is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, and directing daily nursing operations in a long-term care setting.

The ADON will oversee staff training, ensure regulatory compliance, participate in surveys, review documentation, and help coordinate nursing with resident services, while promoting quality care and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing and licensed by the state.
• Must have good verbal and communication skills with the ability to demonstrate organizational and educations skills.
• Previous experience in a hospital, long term care facility or other healthcare related facility.
• Long term care, skilled nursing experience is preferred.
• Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices and procedures and laws, regulations and guidelines governing long term care.
• Completion of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
• Must have basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, developing and directing day to day nursing functions.
• Participate in developing, maintaining and periodically updating written nursing policies and procedures.
• Provide orientation, in-services and continuing education to meet regulatory requirements.
• Determine and assess facility education needs; plan, develop, and implement training.
• Assist in coordinating nursing services with other resident services.
• Ensure nursing staff perform their duties and participate in surveys/inspections; implement corrective actions.
• Review nurse notes to ensure proper documentation related to residents’ treatment, medications and conditions.
