The Assistant Director of Nursing is a key member of the MedStar Health Nursing leadership team. Supports and collaborates with the Director of Nursing to oversee the nursing and patient care delivery within a specific unit or department. Ensures the provision of holistic, culturally competent, person-centered, quality, safe, and cost-effective evidence-based nursing care for patients and families. Collaborates within the organization's shared decision-making framework and manages patient transitions across care continuum to promote optimal health outcomes. Assumes administrative and leadership responsibilities on a 24/7 basis for the assigned unit/department, fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Demonstrates leadership aligned with MedStar's mission, vision, and values.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's preferred.
Experience: 3-4 years of progressive nursing experience; leadership experience preferred.
Licenses & Certifications: Active RN licensure in District of Columbia, CPR certification, and specialty certifications as applicable.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills; proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
Position salary range: $100,588 - $190,340.
