What you will be doing

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)/Educator assists in the planning, organization, direction, supervision, and evaluation of all nursing services at the facility. The ADON works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and assists in the implementation of Upjohn Care Center core programs. This role also helps maintain resident care records and supervises the orientation and training of nursing staff, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to facility standards.

  • Oversee Unit Managers, all licensed nursing staff, and CNAs.
  • Oversee general facility orientation for new hires and licensed nurse orientation.
  • Assist the DON with ongoing education for licensed nurses.
  • Manages the Wound Prevention and Reporting program for the facility.
  • Manages Fall Prevention Program for the facility.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, directing, supervising, and evaluating all nursing services provided in the facility to achieve desired clinical and financial outcome.
  • Obtains and maintains status of Infection Preventionist and manages the Infection Control Program for the facility.

About You

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution or valid LPN or RN license in Michigan.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
