Job summary

Beacon Specialized Living is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to support the Director of Nursing in leading clinical operations across behavioral health programs. This RN leader will guide the nursing team, ensure quality care, and drive improvements in outcomes.

Expect to supervise RNs and LPNs, participate in hiring and training, and coordinate medical services across Beacon locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience.
• 1-2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Strong communication, organization, clinical judgment, and leadership skills.
• Ability to travel between Beacon locations.
• Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Nursing with daily operations and provide coverage when needed.
• Supervise and support RNs and LPNs.
• Provide clinical guidance and triage medical concerns.
• Monitor medication administration, health conditions, infection control, and clinical outcomes.
• Conduct chart and documentation audits and monitor eMAR/EHR compliance.
• Participate in hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff development.
• Coordinate medical, psychiatric, dental, and optical appointments as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Support admissions, discharges, transfers, audits, inspections, and corrective action plans.
• Provide medical and clinical training to staff.
• Maintain the nursing on-call schedule.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and policy development.
• Promote safe, compassionate, trauma-informed care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Beacon provides residential services and supports to children and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Severe Mental Illness, Autism, and high-acuity behaviors. Schedule & Benefits

• Generally, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• No scheduled weekends or holidays
