Job summary

Greens at Weaverville is seeking an experienced RN to join our nursing leadership team as Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). This role focuses on clinical excellence, mentoring nursing teams, and delivering exceptional resident care.

The ADON will work with the Director of Nursing to support daily operations, promote regulatory compliance, and foster a positive, collaborative environment that values staff development and outstanding patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing leadership experience in Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading and overseeing daily nursing department operations.
• Mentor, coach, and supervise nursing staff to promote quality care and teamwork.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure CMS, federal and state regulations compliance.
• Conduct clinical audits, chart reviews, and quality rounds to maintain high standards of care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve resident outcomes.

As our Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), you will work closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) to support daily nursing operations, promote clinical excellence, and ensure high-quality, resident-centered care.

You’ll play a key role in developing nursing staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and creating a positive and collaborative team environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – WHERE YOUR LEADERSHIP MATTERS!

• Assist in leading and overseeing daily nursing department operations.
• Support, mentor, coach, and supervise nursing staff to promote quality care and teamwork.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations to develop a strong clinical team.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, federal, state, and facility regulations.
• Conduct clinical audits, chart reviews, and quality assurance rounds to maintain high standards of care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve resident outcomes and address clinical needs.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, and clinical oversight to support effective nursing operations.
• Serve as Acting Director of Nursing in the absence of the DON.
• Promote accountability, communication, and continuous improvement throughout the nursing department.
• Help create a positive workplace culture where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR – ARE YOU READY TO LEAD?

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) License valid in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing leadership experience in Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, clinical standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, make sound clinical decisions, and thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Passion for resident-centered care, staff development, and clinical excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience with Infection Prevention, Quality Assurance, or Staff Development is a plus.
