Job summary

The Village at Gleannloch Farms is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to oversee daily healthcare operations in a 35-bed skilled nursing community in Texas. You will supervise licensed nurses, ensure quality care, and mentor care staff to maintain resident well-being.

Ideal candidates hold an RN or LPN license in Texas with at least two years in geriatric nursing and strong leadership capabilities. This role offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits in a supportive team

Responsibilities

  • Maintain resident charts and review caregiving documentation.

Salary Range: $85,000- $95,000, based on experience

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday with occasional weekends

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Assistant Director of Nursing assists with the management of the day-to-day healthcare operations of the community to ensure resident’s healthcare needs are met. Ensures residents are treated with respect and dignity and ensures quality care as resident’s healthcare needs change. Supervises licensed nurses and other direct care staff within the community.

Our team members provide extraordinary care and hold each other accountable.

  • Have direct supervision of community-based license nursing staff (LPN RN), the Med Techs/CNAs (if required by State regulation) and or Lead caregiving employees. May also supervise Resident Care staff.
  • Assign and direct work of subordinates; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Provide ongoing training, supervision, and monitoring of employees in the administration of medications as described/allowed in Nurse Practice Act, to include auditing of medication administration records.
  • Provide training and education to resident care employees on an ongoing basis with classroom in-services, and situation-specific training.
  • Supervise the maintenance of resident charts and reviews documentation performed by care giving staff.
  • As described and allowed in the Nurse Practice Act, assesses health, functional and psycho-social status of residents, initiates individualized service plans, proactively manages care and services for each resident, evaluates effectiveness and maximizes the resident’s opportunity to remain in their environment.
  • Manage the health care of residents, including the dissemination of information to families and employees. Ensures that family members are aware of resident’s needs for scheduled appointments.
  • Participate in pre-admission screening of prospective new residents. Assures that required documentation is completed prior to or upon resident admission, including nursing assessments, service plans, and other assigned forms. Updates assessments as required by policy and as described/allowed in Nurse Practice Act.
  • Perform on-site evaluations of residents admitted to alternate care environments for treatment and maintains contact with resident families with the intent of returning resident to the Community.
  • Perform ongoing assessment/observation of resident’s physical and psycho-social needs and coordinates with other departments to assure quality, proactive care.
  • Evaluate residents; documents change in condition, and notifies executive director, physician and resident’s legally responsible party/family of resident’s condition and reactions.
  • Communicate with physicians regarding resident’s status and condition changes. Ensures residents prepared for physician appointments, prepares Physician Visit Form and reviews and updates resident chart.
  • Facilitate continuity of care for those residents receiving home health care, hospice services, and other third-party healthcare-related services.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.RN or LPN with a current license in Texas.
  • Two years’ experience in geriatric nursing with strong leadership skills required.Participation in professional organizations, dealing primarily in geriatrics preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Can generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
  • Can communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Can pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
